I spent 3 days celebrating with some friends at their wedding in Kaleden, BC. If you are thinking of doing a destination wedding within British Columbia, the Okanagan is a great place to do so with amazing wineries around and just a scenic place to be in.
Hailey, Ian and I have been friends for a few years now. I was honoured and excited to be asked to photograph their wedding, and I got even more so excited when they told me it was a destination wedding in Kaleden, BC. 1912 Venue is a lakeside wedding venue surrounded by mountains.
On our first day, we did a winery tour to a few amazing wineries. Some of them also overlooked the Okanagan River. Thus making it such a nice experience to be amongst all their family and friends. In other words, we were all enjoying each other’s company and sipping on good wine.
Hailey and Ian got married the next day at the 1912 Venue in Kaleden, BC, which has an open area outside where the ceremony was being held at. It overlooked the mountains and Skaha Lake where it was also really close to where everyone stayed over for. The venue also had really good food, such as the charcuterie board, while everyone waited for the main courses.
Hailey who is an amazing jewelry designer herself, made her earrings. Her wedding cake and florals were also made by some of her friends, and her dad handmade the gorgeous wooden backdrop. How talented and amazing are all of them?!
It was also really lovely to spend the few days celebrating with all of their close and important people in their lives which I'm honoured and thankful to be a part of. Everyone had so much fun at their destination wedding, being able to enjoy the few days out of the city.
Overall, it was such a great experience to be able to enjoy good wine and see new places with everyone as well!
Are you planing on having a destination wedding and want me to document it?
