Besides the feeling of being in the Victorian era, the compelling fascination of light and shadows on concrete walls is something to keep an eye out for.

We started the day out at Di Beppe, an Italian inspired local cafe/restaurant. Sipping on macchiatos and cappuccinos, we were engulfed by the aroma of coffee, freshly baked pastries and pizzas, while being accompanied with a sense of Italian culture. The homey space prides itself more with light shining through the big and tall windows surrounding this safe haven for most. A new favourite spot in Gastown.

A new friendship with was made with stories, meaningful conversations, common interests, curiosity, and food recommendations shared over coffee and exploring corners in a heritage filled neighbourhood.

This day was also a few days before self isolation was mandated because of the global pandemic. Trying times like many of us are facing now, they surface without us knowing; it’s just inevitable. Just like the better times that comes after. Therefore we hold on tightly to the relationships we have. Empathy and being a confidant can be someone else’s relief to their hardship. Be kind to others and allow ourselves to also rest.
